The Role:
Account Executive:
We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and motivated Account Executive. In this role, you will be the primary client-facing representative, managing the day-to-day needs of major campaigns. AEs bridge our clients and internal departments, working with production, data, and creative teams to deliver high-impact results under tight deadlines.
At Mission Control, we see ourselves as full members of the campaign teams we support. An AE offers strategic guidance and political advice to candidates and consultants. This position is ideal for a political veteran who understands the nuances of the campaign trail and can turn strategy into effective creative mail.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Strategic Guidance: Provide high-level strategic advice to campaigns in meetings and serve as the primary, day-to-day contact for our clients.
- Program Management: Work closely with our largest clients to implement complex direct mail programs from conception through delivery.
- Strategy & Budgeting: Collaborate with our leadership team and consultants to develop the paid communications strategies and budgets our clients need to win.
- Creative Oversight: Partner with our copywriting and graphic design teams to ensure all creative is consistent with the campaign’s broader message and goals.
- Field Production: Direct and staff candidate photoshoots to capture high-quality assets for mail and digital use.
Quality Control: Maintain an eye for detail, proofreading key documents, budgets, and data entries to ensure accuracy.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Political Experience: 3+ years of professional political experience. Significant experience as a Campaign Manager, Field Director, or Finance Director is strongly preferred.
- 360° Communicator: An expert at managing information flow across all levels. You can effectively translate client needs to our creative team, brief firm partners on project status, and present complex strategies to candidates with confidence.
- Strategy Focused: Deeply follows politics and has the ability to offer sound, win-oriented guidance to candidates and committees.
- Collaborative Leader: Works well with others and lacks ego; focuses on the joint success of the campaign and the firm.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Technical Ability: Highly organized and proficient in Excel and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Values Driven: Cares about progressive causes and is committed to broad perspectives and inclusive campaign strategies.
- Travel Ready: Comfortable with airplane travel up to 45% of the time and adept at keeping work moving while on the road.
Workload, Compensation & Location: Our workload accelerates in the run-up to Election Day. Starting in August, the pace increases, and AEs should expect long days and weekends with the team.
Status: This is a full-time, exempt, fixed-term position.
Timeline: This position runs through the end of the 2026 election cycle (November 6, 2026).

Location: 100% remote; applicants start their workday in Eastern Time, regardless of their physical location.
Vacation Blackout: Because of the time-critical nature of our work, there is a mandatory vacation blackout from August 1st through Election Day. We operate on an all-hands-on-deck basis during this period to ensure client success.
