Description
Sanderson Firm PLLC has an opening for an Associate Attorney with 0-3 years of legal experience. The ideal candidate will have Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) compliance experience, but prior MSP experience is not required.
We are a specialized MSP firm that will invest the necessary resources to develop your skills and knowledge. This position requires clear and concise written communication skills, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to switch between tasks quickly.
- This role is a remote-capable position. “Remote-capable” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to Sanderson Firm. Sanderson Firm’s home office is located in downtown Bradenton, FL, and employees are encouraged to work from the office a few days per month, if practical.
Requirements
- Draft or edit settlement documents for workers’ compensation and general liability insurance claims
- Provide pre-review and quality assurance of Medicare Set-Aside reports
- Prepare Medicare Set-Aside submission packages, and file completed Medicare Set-Aside reports to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) through the federal government online Medicare Set-Aside submission portal
- Draft disputes and appeals for Medicare conditional payment liens
- Participate in conference calls regarding Medicare Set-Aside, Section 111 reporting, and/or conditional payment issues
- Assist in preparing PowerPoint presentations
- Regularly communicate with direct supervising attorneys regarding workload status and provide additional support as needed to our legal and other departments
- Abide by all rules of the company such as safety, confidentiality, and organizational directives
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active bar license
- Ability to work independently, prioritize work activities and use time efficiently
- Ability to follow instructions and respond to managements’ directions accurately
- Ability to concentrate and multitask in a fast-paced work environment
- Promote and maintain a positive team-oriented environment
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Adobe PDF
