About the Real American Hardwood Coalition
The Real American Hardwood Coalition is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting American hardwood as the Naturally Authentic® choice. Through its national Get Real Campaign, RAHC aims to raise $3.5 million over three years to support public awareness, education, and industry infrastructure.
Position Summary
RAHC seeks a dynamic, strategic, and experienced Director of Development to lead and execute its comprehensive fundraising strategy. This newly created role will focus exclusively on development, donor engagement, and revenue generation to support the coalition’s ambitious goals. The Director of Development will be responsible for cultivating major gifts, expanding the annual fund, managing donor relations, and implementing innovative fundraising campaigns, including peer-to-peer and challenge initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy & Execution
- Lead implementation of RAHC’s multi-year fundraising plan, including major gifts, annual fund, challenge campaigns, and events.
- Develop and manage a donor pipeline, from identification and cultivation to solicitation and stewardship.
- Oversee quarterly benchmarks to meet the $3.5 million campaign goal.
Donor Relations & Stewardship
- Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, industry leaders, and philanthropic partners.
- Ensure timely and personalized gift acknowledgments and impact reporting.
- Develop recognition programs and giving clubs aligned with RAHC’s brand.
Board & Volunteer Engagement
- Partner with the board to support peer-to-peer fundraising and achieve 100% board giving.
- Provide fundraising training and tools to board members and volunteers.
Development Operations
- Transition donor data into a centralized CRM system and use analytics to guide strategy.
- Produce monthly development reports for board and committee review.
Communications & Campaigns
- Collaborate with communications staff to integrate fundraising messaging across digital platforms, social media, and events.
- Lead Giving Tuesday and year-end campaigns, leveraging storytelling and donor impact.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive fundraising experience, with a track record of securing major gifts and managing campaigns.
- Deep understanding of donor-centered fundraising and nonprofit development best practices.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and strategic planning skills.
- Experience with CRM systems and data-driven fundraising.
- Knowledge of the hardwood industry or related sectors is a plus.
- Ability to travel for donor meetings and industry events.
