Hack & Hustle Social Entrepreneurship Academy (Hack & Hustle) was founded in 2018 as a 501(c)(3) in Charlotte, NC by Mahdi Chambers. Our mission is to educate, train, and expose underserved youth to in-demand technologies and entrepreneurship concepts. We achieve this by offering paid internships, comprehensive technology training, entrepreneurial skill development, and other resources to empower youth to pursue successful careers. Our ultimate goal is to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty for marginalized youth in Charlotte through STEM opportunities, workforce development initiatives, and entrepreneurship training. Job Summary:
Hack & Hustle is seeking a talented and experienced and highly motivated Grant Writer to join our volunteer team. The Grant Writer will be responsible for preparing and submitting grant proposals to foundations and other sources to secure funding that supports our programs, and other initiatives. This role is crucial in helping H&H achieve our mission and expand our impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Research potential criteria from foundations, and other funding sources.
Write compelling and well-structured grant proposals that align with the mission and goals of H&H Academy.
Collaborate with the Executive Director and other team members to gather necessary information and data necessary for proposals.
Maintain a comprehensive calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submissions.
Develop and maintain relationships with funders and stakeholders.
Prepare progress reports for funders that detail the impact of their contributions
Stay updated on trends in grant writing and funding opportunities

Requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven experience in grant writing with a successful track record of securing funding.
Strong research and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Familiarity with STEM, workforce development initiatives, and entrepreneurship concepts is a plus.
Ability to create budgets is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
