Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lubricants Sales Professional to join our team in a sales position. This position is focused on securing new mid- to largesize lubricant accounts and driving growth. This role requires strong industry relationships, prospecting skills, and the ability to identify and develop new customer opportunities independently. This role is best suited for a proven ‘hunter’ who thrives on opening doors, winning competitive business, and building a book from the ground up. Candidates seeking to inherit or manage an existing portfolio will not find this role to be a fit.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Extensive time (50-80%) in the field, developing new relationships and building business.
- Develop, build, and maintain strong relationships with key clients and customers.
- Target new customers and actively follow up to onboard new accounts.
- Identify customer needs and provide solutions through product innovations or enhancements.
- The individual in this role is responsible for meeting / exceeding sales targets for lubricants.
- Provide updated reporting on target projects and a market outlook for forecasting purposes.
- Prepare and update all opportunities daily/weekly within CRM.
- Investigate service complaints and assist customers in finding innovative solutions.
- Provide technical support and training to customers on the proper use of lubricants.
- Knowledge of competitive activities, including product lines, pricing, and services.
- Participate in trade shows, lunch & learns, and industry activities.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of proven Lubricants Sales experience is required.
- In-depth understanding of lubricants products and their applications.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and people skills.
- Candidate must be able to work independently in a home-based office.
- Experience with sales CRM, Customer Relationship Management tools.
- Valid US driver's license and safe driving history.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Current or recent experience selling bulk lubricants, fuels, or industrial fluids.
- Ability to discuss lubricant applications, equipment requirements, and performance advantages with stakeholders.
- Existing relationships with fleets, construction firms, ag, oil & gas, or industrial customers,
- Comfortable selling value and service—not just price.
- Self-directed, disciplined, and motivated by variable compensation.
Compensation/Benefits
This role offers full benefits including, health care, 401k, vacation pay, etc. Compensation is a BASE + COMMISSION (uncapped). Target earnings are between $120,000 – 150,000+ over half of which is driven by the uncapped commission plan. Commission will be paid for any new business brought to the company, and a % reoccurring monthly to maintain those accounts. Commission details, payout timing, and ramp expectations will be reviewed during the interview process.
