Thompson, Hughes & Trollinger, PLLC is seeking a Seasonal Tax Professional to join our tax team during tax season.
This position is ideal for someone with experience in tax preparation, bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, or other related financial work who enjoys preparing tax returns and working with numbers. While the primary focus of this role is preparing individual income tax returns, candidates with additional experience may also have the opportunity to prepare business, fiduciary, and nonprofit tax returns.
We'll provide training on our systems, workflows, and tax preparation procedures. We're looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to producing accurate, high-quality work while continuing to develop their tax knowledge.
What We're Looking For
Experience in tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, accounting, or other related financial work.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
Professional communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
Ability to learn new software and work effectively with both electronic and paper client documentation.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of client information.
Primary Responsibilities
Prepare primarily individual (Form 1040) income tax returns.
Prepare business, fiduciary, and nonprofit tax returns based on experience and business needs.
Review client tax information for completeness and identify missing or inconsistent information.
Apply firm procedures and tax preparation standards to produce accurate, high-quality tax returns.
Maintain accurate electronic and paper tax files in accordance with firm procedures.
Participate in training and continually develop tax preparation knowledge.
Perform other tax return preparation duties as assigned.
