The starting base pay range for this position is $150,000-$170,000. Individual compensation will be commensurate with candidate's experience. This position is eligible for full benefits, as well as the Senior Director level annual incentive bonus program.
Summary of Position:
AVIXA (Audiovisual & Integrated Experience Association) is seeking a business development professional to lead a dedicated function of achieving strategic relationships with global Tier 1A customers. These companies may be entirely new to AVIXA or companies we have a level of relationship with. Tier 1A customers are globally influential technology companies that play a critical role in shaping the future if AV/IT and are driving the advancement and innovation in the Pro AV and broader technology industry. Engaging with them raises the strategic relevance and importance of the AV Industry in the wider technology landscape and AVIXA’s role and relevance in that.
This is a true business development role for someone who is a self-starter and professional leader who is very comfortable engaging with executives and to map organizations to develop strategic relationships with them. They will be directly responsible for a revenue target as well as responsible for opening opportunities for others to close.
Reporting to the Chief Global Officer, the primary goal of this role is to identify global Tier 1A companies, engage with them at an executive level, and map strategic relationships with them. This role will provide a key stakeholder role, sharing customer insights that influence product portfolio design, future global partner participants, future enterprise membership and future global tradeshow participation and sponsorship.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Research new Tier 1A company prospects at HQ level in the USA and around the world. Develop executive relationships across the organizations to analyze and assess their business to create strategic and partner relationships. Identify partners, associations and groups which could be routes to market to reach new Tier 1A companies. Research technology trends and news impacting the industry and its adjacencies and bring this intelligence into AVIXA’s programs to inform content and trade shows. Map these companies to build strategic relationships, which are defined as knowing their innovation, R&D plans, technology impact and opportunity for the Industry. Build relationships with their marketing teams to become marketing partners to co-create strategic opportunities and amplify reach through shared audiences and brand alignment. Work closely with global AVIXA sales teams to share business opportunities and market intelligence relevant to all AVIXA products, particularly trade shows, content and digital. Assess, manage, and track against annual budget, providing relevant updates for fiscal updates and future spends. Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization including all trade shows, global membership, and content creation and digital content teams to develop ideas and products relevant to our key markets. Establish and track KPIs via regular reports and provide actionable insights.

AV and Technology industry experience essential Commercially astute with proven experience in a business development and/or sales role Exceptional ability in crafting personalized proposals and sponsorship opportunities Experience and a passion for integrating data into engagement decisions and on-going strategies Solutions-focus essential, with ability to be able to understand the global technology landscape and opportunities Internal advocate of change and vision, creating strong colleague relationships and pathways to inform AVIXA’s products and services. Proficient in analytics tools such as Salesforce and Pardot, and best practices for business development and sales practices Proficiency in English. Additional language comprehension desirable. Outstanding communication and people skills Executive presence and leadership Experience of working globally with proven track record of results and success Reliability, efficiency, and a desire to creatively challenge the status quo in the name of our audiences
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience Level: Minimum of 8 years in business development and/or sales
Technical Skills: CRM, project management platforms, email platforms, MS and/or Mac OS
Other skills: Fluency in English language and grammatical best practices, digital writing and/or video production
