Founding Verification & Financial Crime Lead — CTRS360
San Francisco, CA / Remote | Paid Consulting Engagement → Potential Leadership Role
CTRS360 is building verification and trust-record infrastructure for global physical commodity trade.
As we prepare for launch, we’re looking for an experienced verification and financial crime professional to help us build the human expertise behind our verification function.
This is not a traditional policy or compliance role.
We’re looking for someone who knows how to investigate — someone who can look at a company, a person, a document, or a transaction, follow the evidence, spot inconsistencies, and clearly explain what can be verified, what cannot be verified, and what should be checked next.
What you’ll help us build
You’ll work directly with our founder and technical team to develop CTRS360’s verification methodology and quality-control framework.
Your work may include:
Counterparty and company verification KYC/KYB and beneficial ownership review Sanctions and adverse-media research Document and source-of-funds review Trade-based money laundering indicators Verification and escalation procedures Quality control for verification findings Practical fraud typologies specific to physical commodity trade Clear, defensible evidence records and audit trails You’ll also help us translate real investigative expertise into repeatable workflows that can eventually be supported by technology and AI.
Who we’re looking for
We’d like to speak with someone who has meaningful hands-on experience in areas such as financial crime investigations, fraud detection, KYC/KYB, sanctions, beneficial ownership, source-of-funds/source-of-wealth, document verification, or trade-based money laundering.
Experience in physical commodities, energy, oil and petroleum products, trade finance, shipping, banking, forensic investigations, or international trade would be particularly valuable.
CAMS, CGSS, CAFS, or similar credentials are welcome, but they are not the deciding factor.
What matters most is investigative judgment.
We want someone who is curious enough to keep asking questions, disciplined enough not to overstate what the evidence proves, and practical enough to know when additional investigation is actually necessary.
How the engagement starts
We plan to begin with a short, paid consulting engagement, likely 4–6 weeks.
The initial scope will involve working through representative commodity-trade verification cases with our founder and technical team and helping us develop the first version of CTRS360’s verification methodology and quality-control framework.
Compensation will depend on experience and the agreed time commitment.
If there’s a strong fit on both sides, we’d like the relationship to grow into a longer-term leadership role as CTRS360 scales.
Location
Remote.
Bay Area preferred, but we’re open to exceptional candidates globally, particularly in London, Geneva, Dubai, and Singapore.
If this sounds like the kind of problem you enjoy solving, I’d love to hear from you.
