For over 40 years, Adams Broadwell Joseph & Cardozo has represented clients on labor, energy, utility, environmental, land use, and local government law. With attorneys throughout California, and offices in South San Francisco and Sacramento, Adams Broadwell Joseph & Cardozo represents labor organizations, trade associations, environmental, consumer and community groups and other non-profit associations.
Adams Broadwell Joseph & Cardozo pioneered the representation of workers and labor organizations in the enforcement of public health and safety laws; in the review of projects with environmental, worker and community impacts; and in energy and utility industry regulation and policy. Position Summary:
Adams Broadwell Joseph & Cardozo is accepting applications for an attorney to join our growing union-side labor practice with experience practicing in at least one of the following areas:
-Labor law
-Energy and Utility
-Building and Energy Efficiency Standards
-Contract Negotiation
-Workforce Development Policy
-Public Works Contracting
-Competitive Bidding Law
-Responsible Contractor Requirements
-Prevailing Wage Compliance and Enforcement
-Apprenticeship Programs
-Labor Arbitrations
Attorneys represent clients by providing advice, in negotiations, before federal and state administrative and regulatory agencies, legislative committees, municipalities and other local governmental agencies, and in court.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
Excellent research and analytic skills.
Outstanding and persuasive written or oral communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with technical experts, including with respect to new technologies and emerging climate and health threats.
Effective legal representation with experience in relevant areas.
Strong capacity for strategic thinking, including in designing and implementing advocacy that consistently obtains high-quality results.
Demonstrated initiative and creativity in approach with the ability to identify and develop new opportunities, combined with the ability to work collaboratively.
Strong desire to advocate for sustainable development and labor benefits.
Demonstrated commitment to serving the public interest.
Ability to work collegially and contribute to a diverse, equitable and inclusive work culture.
Ability and willingness to travel as needed, including for case work, educational seminars, hearing appearances and meetings with clients.
Salary is based on the number of years of relevant experience and location. The annual salary range for this role is $120,000 to $150,000. Actual pay will vary depending upon various factors, including relevant experience, skills, current business needs and market factors. The compensation range listed is just one component of Adams Broadwell Joseph & Cardozo’s package for employees.
