Description
The Chakrabarti Family, the sole owners of the unicorn PMC Group Companies, Inc., a corporation with operations around the world, seeks a retained attorney with litigation experience barred in the state of NY for diverse on-demand legal services. Dr. PM Chakrabarti is one of the 50 highest net worth individuals in the state of NJ and his family has diverse legal needs. The candidate attorney should be a senior member or partner of a reputable multi-practice area law firm. The retained attorney will offer her/his services at 30-50% discount of the attorney’s standard hourly fee, will carry a minimum annual commitment of 50 hours and up to 100 hours, depending on the attorney’s availability. The retainer will be paid monthly. The initial term will be one year. Upon demand from the client, the attorney must work a minimum of 2 hours per week in representation of the client. Under the terms of this general practice area retainer, the attorney will represent and/or advise family members on any and all matters in the state of NY (including federal courts in these districts), and for any claims in other states, the attorney will as needed seek local counsel for admission to that state pro hac vice. The candidate will also defend family members against any civil claims. The engagement can be terminated by client or attorney without further commitment, but with a 60-day notice, if the counterparty violates the engagement terms.
