Description
Instructional Designer is a client-facing role providing an important level of support. This role works under the direction of the Director, Experiential Learning and requires close partnership with the Training Producer (internally) and client (externally) to research, design, develop, and deliver custom training solutions.
Requirements
An Instructional Designer is expected to take initiative and be accountable for all assignments given to them both in the office, remotely, and onsite. At Wilson Dow, Instructional Designers develop materials for a variety of training solutions, including, but not limited to training programs, workshops, micro-learning, live learning experiences, meetings, media, and communication campaigns. Additionally, it is our expectation that an Instructional Designer provides knowledge-sharing to other Wilson Dow personnel as we continually refine our processes and develop our teams.
The Instructional Designer is primarily responsible for immersing in and developing training content across a wide range of subjects. These responsibilities are completed in partnership with learning strategists, training producers, creative, digital, video, and graphics team members. Responsibilities specific to this role include:
Lead discovery and inquiry with clients to isolate desired behavioral outcomes
Craft and present concepts to prospective and existing clients
Immerse in content and analyze/synthesize data
Design and develop activities aligned with adult learning principles (e.g., assignments, courses, curriculum, and assessments)
Continuously implement innovative, learner-centered strategies to enhance engagement and improve outcomes
Partner with Executive Training Producers throughout the development process
Prepare facilitators to take ownership of and ultimately execute training programs
Communicate with onsite crew to execute clear vision of training programs
Create structure for long-term programs (e.g., architecture for learning journey)
Take initiative, provide direction, and drive decisions forward
Manage and communicate changes between internal and client teams
Understand medical/legal review process of training deliverables
Submit timesheets and expense reports in a timely manner
