Struck Love Acedo (“SLA”) is currently hiring a litigation associate.  SLA specializes in government liability defense and general civil litigation defense.  The firm defends torts, constitutional claims under § 1983 and Bivens, class actions, and complex civil litigation matters.   We practice in both state and federal court nationwide from inception through post-trial appeals.  Candidates must have excellent writing skills and a strong work ethic.  Under the supervision of our partners, litigation associates work up their own files, which include motion practice, defending and taking depositions, arguing motions, and trying cases.  SLA is looking for motivated attorneys to work in a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

Specialized knowledge in complex civil litigation defense.
Manage cases from inception of the case through discovery to resolution, whether that is settlement, motion, or trial.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent writing, research, interpersonal, and communication skills who has strong experience in drafting motions and related filings in state and federal court.
Proficiency in legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw; familiarity with research techniques is essential.
Strong writing skills with the ability to craft clear and compelling legal documents.
Experience working within a law office environment with familiarity in managing multiple cases simultaneously.
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission.
